Bloodstock Art Gallery - Where Heavy Music Meets Visual Art
The Bloodstock Art Gallery, founded by legendary artist Paul Gregory, stands as a vital cultural pillar within the Bloodstock festival ecosystem. More than an exhibition space, it is a celebration of the visual imagination that has always been intertwined with heavy music. Paul Gregory, best known for his iconic artwork for bands such as Saxon and his long-standing role as Bloodstock’s principal visual architect created the gallery as a dedicated platform to showcase the depth, diversity, and power of metal art.
His vision was simple but essential: to give artists working within the metal and fantasy realms the same respect, visibility, and space afforded to musicians on stage. The gallery brings together painters, illustrators, digital artists, sculptors, and designers from across the underground and beyond, highlighting how visual art shapes the identity of metal culture.
From album artwork and poster design to dark fantasy, surrealism, horror, and mythology-inspired pieces, the Bloodstock Art Gallery reflects the rich aesthetic language that defines the scene. What makes the gallery special is its accessibility. It invites festival-goers to slow down, step inside, and engage with the creative process behind the imagery that has defined metal for decades.

In a culture where sound and vision are inseparable, the Bloodstock Art Gallery stands as proof that metal is not just music, it is a fully realised art form. Through Paul Gregory’s vision, it continues to inspire, educate, and celebrate the artists who give metal its face as well as its voice.
Oliver G Andrew gave me a tour of the art gallery at this year’s Bloodstock in 2025 which revealed to me the many amazing artists that exist in the scene including Oliver’s only bloodwork artistry and paintings which are associated with concepts of tarot and numerology.
